Austria Mandates & Restrictions

Austria is open to tourists and quarantine is required unless vaccinated.


Tourists who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. The first dose must have been administered at least 22 days before travel, with a validity of 3 months. After the final dose, the validity is extended up to a year after the first dose. Vaccines that only require one dose are valid after 22 days. All vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency or the World Health Organisation are accepted If any other country has been visited in the previous 10 days, that does not have a low incidence rate, travelers may have to provide an essential reason to enter Austria and self-quarantine on arrival.


FFP2 face masks are required in public for unvaccinated people only (source) . Restaurants and bars are open with till 10 am. Seating is limited to a maximum of 4 people indoors and 10 people outdoors. Nightclubs remain closed. Vaccine is required by February or fines and improsonment will be enforced.
